WD Foundation

Warakamb Development Foundation (WDF) was formed by professionals and the ordinary people from the Warakamb Valley. Due to the remoteness of the area and the numerous social problems including health, education and almost no economic activity and so on, this foundation was formed to address these issues.

Humble beginnings

The idea was conceived almost two decades ago in the 1990s. A few of the educated guys while returning home for holidays saw that the area was so remote, social  indicators were poor and economic activity was non existent. Something needs to be done, they said, so they conceived the idea of forming a group aimed at tackling the issues.
